YRIC Honorary President Mr. Li Ka-shing's Charity Foundation Started Project “Decide Well, Spend Wisely”




YRIC Honorary President Mr. Li Ka-shing's Charity Foundation named Li Ka-shing Foundation recently released that the first phase of Project “Decide Well, Spend Wisely” started by Li Ka-shing Foundation, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and St. James' Settlement would officially offers a gift of HK$5,000 as a direct support to 2017 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) students from Yuen Long and Outlying Islands Districts.

In the first day, the schools receiving the cash coupons are Donghua Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Lo Kon Ting Memorial College located in Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai and Pak Kau College. Students can take the cash coupon to the China bank in exchange for HK $5000 in cash, or put in your personal bank account to play“Decide Well, Spend Wisely”spirit, and the project hopes the HK$5,000 gift will enable recipients to focus their energy on facing the HKDSE examination.


At president, a total of 51 schools from Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and  Outlying Islands Districts and more than 5700 candidates take part in the project. Li Ka-shing foundation will assess the implementation of the first phase of the project and will expand to other areas.


The project“Decide Well, Spend Wisely”encourage students to autonomously spend the money and students don’t need to pay back the money even though they drop out or abandon the HKDSE examination. Headmasters from secondary schools that participate in the project expect students to spend wisely and take reflection on the funding in order to avoid the students take it for granted and let down the donors.
