On July 7th, 2016, Canada time, on behalf of the governor of Ontario, Canada, Mr. Michael Chan, the Director of Trade Division, met with the Hubei Provincial government delegation which was led by Mr. Cao Guangjing. They had a friendly and practical meeting. Then they jointly inaugurated Canada YRIC. Mr. Liu Meng, the Global Executive President of YRIC attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Governor Mr. Cao Guangjing delivered the Governor of Hubei Province Mr. Wang Guosheng’s letter to Premier of Ontario Ms. Kathleen Wynne. It is said on the letter that for years, Hubei Province and Ontario keeps friendly communications. With frequent exchanges of top-level visits, there are frequent economic and trade exchanges between Hubei Province and Ontario which has become a good model of local cooperation between China and Canada. He hoped to deepen the traditional friendship between Hubei and Ontario, and develop more practical exchanges and cooperations in economy, trade, science, education, agriculture, culture and personnel exchanges to build closer friendly cooperation between Hubei and Ontario.

Both sides talked about their economic and trade advantages and the next step of cooperation. The President of Canada Hubei Chamber Of Commerce Mr. Lu Yuefeng, the Vice President of Canada YRIC, the Chairman of Happy Life Group Inc. Mr. Luo Liangzhi and other guests from Canada attended the meeting. Also, the Director General of Finance Office of Hubei Province Mr. Liu Meipin, the Director General of Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hubei Province Mr. Yin Weizhen, the Vice President of Hubei Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Mr. Wu Jianmin and other delegation members from China attended the meeting. 

The Meeting

Ontario is one of the ten provinces of Canada, located in east-central Canada. Ontario is bordered  by the US states of Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York to the south. Lake of the Woods to the west, and Saint Lawrence River of Cornwall to the east. There are 4 lakes of Great Lakes in Ontario, included Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario(The province is named after Lake Ontario, a term thought to be skanadario, which means "beautiful water" in the Iroquoian languages.). The biggest city and provincial capital city is Toronto. It is the principle city of “Golden Horseshoes” urban belt in the west bank of Lake Ontario.
