Mr. Jean-Pascal Tricoire, the Vice President of YRIC: Internet of Things (IoT) is Another Industrial Revolution to Economy

Mr.Jean-Pascal Tricoire, the Vice President of YRIC expressed recently that the global energy demand is keeping increasing. by 2040, the future renewable energy will account for 70% of the new energy.


He further pointed out that now there are more than 2 billion people who fail to get stable energy supplies. In the next 40 years, humans will use more than 1.5 times of the energy comapred with present consumption and the needed industrial energy consumption will be doubled. By 2040, the electricity demand will grow 80% exceeding the growth proportion of many other energies.

Jean-Pascal Tricoire said over 50 billion network products would achieve the digitization by 2020. Based on the survey of 3,000 business leaders’ thoughts about IoT, Mr. Jean-Pascal Tricoire has concluded the significance of IoT to the economic development will be comparable to the industrial revolution, the Internet and mobile communications. IoT could greatly promote social innovation and prosperity. 


 The so-called Internet of Things refers to things connected to the Internet. By sensors, IoT is able to apply the Internet to infrastructure and service industry. IoT has broad prospects for further development. Schneider Electric, the Vice President unit of YRIC believes that IoT will become an important business tool for large enterprises and institutions. 


 IoT is beneficial to improve the efficiency of the resource usage and it will help countries cope with global warming, water shortages, environmental pollution and other major social and environmental issues. Accoding to related survies, 63% companies plan to apply IoT to analyze customer behaviors in this year and two-thirds of companies plan to use IoT through mobile applications.
